Loft interior design for an urban and cosmopolitan life in the center of Madrid

Madrid, May 8th, 2018 – An open-plan space, for a contemporary and urban lifestyle. That’s the designing and decorating purpose design by architect and interior designer Nayra Iglesias to this loft located in the center of Madrid.

“From the beginning, the idea “, explains Iglesias, “has been created a current design apartment that would be as functional, cozy and sophisticated as possible, and achieve an aesthetic full of different textures and contrasts”. This is how they opted for material as brick, stoneware, brass, wood, and vinyl flooring, in this almost 100ms loft with”U-shape” plan.

We get, instead of out of tune, a harmony and a balance of materials, in a vibrant and delicate atmosphere, that has been finished off with an eclectic decoration combining design furniture, some vintage pieces and other industrial-look elements, that add value in a predominantly feminine and chic environment, the same as the studio’s recognized and characterized style.

The apartment is distributed, basically, in four main rooms: kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom. All of them are open and connected with each other, because of the lack of interior walls, that generates the possibility of turning around a patio full of plants which – as an oasis lost in the middle of the city – brings a green and natural touch.

ModelThe 200m2 kitchen offers the main access and the first look at the house. The principal elements of this places have been designed in parallel with a large central island as the protagonist of the space, and behind which has been installed a wide floor-to-ceiling paneling storage module. Its white and contemporary finish stands out with the Triangle Grey flooring by Gerflor, which personalizes the area with its imitation micro-cement finish, waterproof material that prevents the passage of liquid substances, ideal for this kitchen area.

The dining room is formed by a custom-made table with an industrial touch design by Nayra Iglesias surrounded by eight different chairs that mixed oriental and glamorous style. The contrast between the oriental chairs, made in a brass structure and signed by Vical Home and the Rizzo velvet chairs made by Singular Market, creates a unique and extremely feminine combination.

In this living-dining room, there are two flooring types from Gerflor Senso Clic Premium collection. The idea has been obtained a greater resistance to the frequent traffic so usual in this instance, opting for a light gray porcelain imitation design, “so recurrent”, says Iglesias, “in the world of the residential interior design”. The Gotha Clear pavement is chosen as general flooring.

The second pavement causes a change in the dining area, applying Diamond Cream from the HQR range, because of its simple and quick installation. It has been projected to form a visual carpet that closes and delimits the area, meanwhile, it’s playing with contrasts as the major idea project.
