El gran azul – Diseño del Restaurante Kai La Caleta

El equipo de In Out Studio dirigido por la arquitecta e interiorista Nayra Iglesias, tiene el placer de presentar su nuevo proyecto de diseño, el restaurante KAI la Caleta. Un local con mucha magia que ha abierto sus puertas en la Caleta de Adeje, al sur de la isla de Tenerife.

Liderado por un prestigioso chef, el restaurante asienta sus pilares en la cocina contemporánea, fusionando los diferentes sabores de La Cocina asiática con La Cocina europea.

En un marco incomparable de la costa tinerfeña, este restaurante aspira a convertirse en un referente para los food & design lovers.

“La idea, desde el inicio”, explica Nayra Iglesias, “fue crear un espacio sorprendente que sumergiera al comensal en un mundo paralelo. El color azul, presente en mi ADN, impregna todo el local como si de un paisaje subacuático se tratara.

Con este color quería generar una experiencia relajada, mágica y misteriosa en donde se entremezclan estilos asiáticos con toques de art decó siempre presentes en mis proyectos”.

El  primer espacio que recibe al comensal al entrar es el área de bar formado por una sinuosa barra de silestone blanco y una contrabarra con botellero hecho a medida en latón envejecido.

Junto a él se levanta una delicada celosía metálica con vidrieras en colores azul y mostaza que preside el comedor principal.

Uno de los puntos fuertes de este interiorismo, son los diferentes revestimientos que contribuyen a generar un ambiente marino.

El uso de azulejos cerámicos artesanales envuelve el espacio como si de unas escamas se tratase. Provocando el contraste con los azulejos, el suelo conecta con la tierra con un parquet de madera bicolor.

El restaurante se distribuye en dos ambientes muy diferenciados. En planta alta se encuentra la cocina y el comedor principal, mientras que la planta sótano se reserva para el núcleo de aseos y un comedor privado.

La planta baja se ha creado para deleitar a los amantes de la alta restauración. Este espacio diáfano se encuentra dividido en cuatro pequeños salones a través de unos espectaculares biombos-joya diseñados por el estudio y realizados en vidrio de color serigrafiado, metal e incrustaciones de espejo en color bronce.

Esta sucesión de elementos genera micro ambientes diferenciados entre sí potenciados por cambios en las texturas de los tapizados y por el uso de notas de color.

Cada comedor dispone de mobiliario diseñado ad-hoc en los que destacan las mesas de mármol azul y blanco.

El final del restaurante se colmata con una reinterpretación de un jardín inglés que, como si de un exterior se tratara, se llena de luz cenital y vegetación.

En este espacio las líneas del interiorismo se suavizan aún más dando lugar a una zona de asientos de formas orgánicas. El predominante color azul da paso al color verde y mostaza presente en los tapizados aterciopelados y en el falso techo de madera de roble natural.

El  elemento más espectacular de este espacio es sin duda el techo realizado con lamas de madera de roble natural, dejando entrever una tenue luz indirecta a través de cuatro lucernarios circulares.

Las paredes se colmatan con un exquisito papel pintado en tonalidades verdosas que recrea y potencia la idea de jardín interior.

Como es habitual en los proyectos de In Out Studio, en este restaurante también encontramos una cuidada iluminación diseñada en exclusiva con una serie de exquisitas lámparas suspendidas realizadas en latón y vidrio de color.

El núcleo de comunicaciones que conecta planta baja y planta alta se resuelve con una majestuosa escalera de mármol blanco envuelta en una celosía metálica con incrustaciones de vidrio en color mostaza y azul, los colores corporativos del restaurante.

“Arriesgar y romper con el ambiente de planta alta para introducir al cliente en el mundo nocturno y cosmopolita de las metrópolis asiáticas” es lo que inspiró a Nayra Iglesias y su equipo para darle un giro de 360º al diseño y transformar la planta sótano en un paseo por las calles bulliciosas de Hong Kong.

Los accesos a los baños se encuentran en este sorprendente hall, en el que las entradas a los mismos se convierten en una ensoñación que dejan entrever las siluetas a través de sus puertas de vidrio impreso.

Su diseño, al igual que el resto del restaurante es una reinterpretación de la cultura asiática. Cuenta con apliques diseñados en exclusiva por el estudio y un lavamanos de tamaño XXL realizado en hierro que conecta los aseos masculinos y femeninos.

Inmersos en esta atmósfera oscura y vibrante se oculta la sala más mágica del restaurante, the «Black Box «. Un impactante comedor para 12 comensales revestido de cerámica negra y espejos que promete ser el culmen de una experiencia extrasensorial.

Este espectacular espacio está presidido por una mesa de madera maciza de nogal de 4 metros de longitud, rodeado de asientos de terciopelo de vibrantes colores.

Sin embargo, lo que hace de este espacio algo mágico y futurista es, sin duda, el juego de reflejos e iluminación indirecta en contraste con las paredes de cerámica negra.

The team of In Out Studio direct by the architect and interior designer Nayra Iglesias, have the pleasure to present their new project of restaurant KAI la Caleta . A magical place that has opened its doors in the Caleta de Adeje, south of theisñand of Tenerife.

Headed by a prestigious chef, the restaurant sets its pillars in contemporary cuisine, merging the different flavors of Asian Cuisine with European Cuisine.

In an incomparable setting of the coast of Tenerife, this restaurant aims to become a reference for food & design lovers.

«The idea, from the beginning,» explains Nayra Iglesias, «was to create a surprising space where the guests have been dipped in a parallel world. The blue color, present in my DNA, permeates the whole place as if it were an underwater landscape.

With this color I wanted to generate a relaxed, magical and mysterious experience where Asian styles are mixed with touches of art deco, always present in my projects».

The first space that receives the guests is the bar area composed by a sinuous bar of white compac and a counter bar made to measure with aged brass.

Next to it stands a delicate metal lattice with stained glass windows in blue and mustard colors that presides over the main dining room.

One of the strengths of this interior space are the different coatings, that contribute to generating a marine environment.

The use of artisanal ceramic tiles envelops the space as if it were scales. By causing contrast with the tiles, the floor connects with the ground with a bicolor wood parquet.

The restaurant is distributed in two very different space. On the top floor is the kitchen and the main dining room, while the basement floor is reserved for the toilet core and a private dining room.

The ground floor has been created to delight lovers of high restoration. This diaphanous space is divided into four small halls through spectacular screens-jewellery screens designed by the studio and made of silkscreen coloured glass, metal and bronze mirror inlays

This succession of elements generates micro space that differ from each other, enhanced by changes in the textures of the upholstery and by the use of colour notes.

Each dining room has ad-hoc designed furniture where blue and white marble tables stand out.

In the last space of the restaurant is filled with a reinterpretation of an English garden that, like an exterior, is filled with light zenith and vegetation.

In this space the interior design lines are softened even more giving way to an area of seats of organic shapes. The predominant blue color gives way to the green and mustard colors present in the velvety upholstery and in the false ceiling of natural oak wood.

The most spectacular element of this space is undoubtedly the ceiling made with natural oak wood slats, leaving a glimpse of a dim indirect light through four circular skylights.

The walls are filled with an exquisite wallpaper in greenish tones that recreates and enhances the idea of an interior garden.

As is customary in the In Out Studio projects, in this restaurant we also find a carefully designed lighting, exclusively designed with a series of exquisite lamps suspended in brass and coloured glass..

The communications core that connects ground floor and top floor is resolved with a majestic white marble staircase wrapped in a metal lattice with stained glass in mustard and blue, the corporate colors of the restaurant.

«Risking and breaking with the high floor environment to introduce the customer into the nightlife and the neat lighting of the staircase core invites you down to the lower level, where you discover a radical change in the environment. The quiet ground floor space is left behind for a bustling street in Hong Kong.

This stunning space with its neon posters and cobbled pavement move the viewer into a vibrant and unexpected world.

The access to the bathrooms is located in this surprising hall, where the entrances to the bathrooms become a dream that allows you to glimpse the silhouettes through their printed glass doors.

Its design, like the rest of the restaurant, is a reinterpretation of Asian culture. It features exclusive wall lights design by the studio and a XXL sized iron sink that connects the male and female toilets.

Immersed in this dark and vibrant atmosphere is hidden the most magical room of the restaurant, the «Black Box«. A stunning dining room for 12 diners lined with black ceramics and mirrors that promises to be the culmination of an extrasensory experience.

This spectacular space is presided over by a walnut solid wood table 4 meters long, surrounded by velvet seats of vibrant colors.

However, what makes this space something magical and futuristic is, without a doubt, the play of reflections and indirect lighting in contrast to the black ceramic walls.
